WP1 Front-End Engineering Design for Nature Inclusive Gravity Anchors and Their Associated Scour Protection System

WP1 develops the general and site-specific designs of the gravity anchors and their associated scour protection system for the three INF4INiTY case study sites, integrating both engineering and ecological requirements.

The work package establishes design guidelines and a comprehensive design framework, including dimensions, materials, and standards, to ensure cost-effective and optimized solutions. It also investigates nature-inclusive design options, identifying target species, assessing habitat impacts, and creating a catalogue for ecological integration.

Based on this, WP1 delivers the general and site-specific designs, balancing ecological objectives with structural demands under wind, wave, current, and seismic loads.

WP1 evaluates low-cost fabrication, sustainable materials, and transport & installation strategies, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.
